    1. What were their constraints? Financial constraints. Equipment constraints - they didn’t really have the right equipment. Time constraints - they only had 24 hours. Personnel constraints - they had an actor cancellation. 
    2. What were their positive constraints? Location constraint - They used their own flat which meant they didn't have to pay for a location so they only have to pay their actors. Equipment constraint - They used their own equipment so its cheaper and they have freedom of use. They had archived scripts so they didn’t have to create an entire new script when they couldn’t use their original because the actor cancelled. Co-working can sometimes be extremely difficult.
    3. What were their negative constraints? They had a huge time constraint as they had day jobs so it took them 6 months to edit their film.

    They are responsible for the visual concept of a film, television or theatre production.

    Role of a Production Designer - Questions

    What is the role of a production designer 

    They’re given the script and the budget and try to make visual concepts, sets/locations and props for the movie. Basically all the mise-en-scene for the movie.

    Big productions - PD head of all the above departments

    Small productions - PD does all the above

    During a production, what other members does the production designer co-ordinate with

    They work with the director and the producer (discuss creative vision), photographer, script writer (how to visualise and match the script), Makeup artist/costume designer, along with the buyer, coordinator, and the actors.

    What issues can occur for a production designer?

    Things can change within ANYTIME of shooting and they need to pay attention to that and tend to it. They also need to rely on everyone in the team, so if someone makes a mistake , they need to take the hit for it, so they should need to get along with everyone.

    What skills, education, experience and training are beneficial for a production designer to have?

    Theatre degree, design, multitasking, social skills, organisation skills, internships with people in the industry
